La Chambre de Jamila
A story spanning centuries
The soul of the palace resides in the Chamber of Jamila — a space untouched by time and renewed with reverence. This 800-year-old chamber stands as a living archive, with carved wooden canopy work above the bed dating back to the palace's earliest days, lovingly restored by a master Tunisian artisan. The stone walls, antique portraits, and ancestral furnishings evoke the memory of generations past, while patterned zellige tiles whisper stories underfoot. This is more than a room — it is a sanctum of memory, devotion, and beauty, offering guests the privilege of dwelling within history itself.
The oldest room in Palais Harran, Jamila has stood since the 13th century — its wooden carvings restored by Tunisian hands, its spirit unchanged for 800 years.
